The Smiths acumula en su haber gran cantidad de antologías en las que se recogen momentos fundamentales de su música. Hablamos tanto de recopilaciones al uso como de extrañas combinaciones que se convierten en obras de culto, como es el caso de Louder Than Bombs.

En esta ocasión se publicará un nuevo recopilatorio, pero con características especiales. Habrá dos ediciones, una de un sólo cd con 23 éxitos del grupo, y otra con el mismo cd más otro que incluye rarezas, entre ellas una versión del “What’s The World” de James. Morrissey se ha limitado a ponerle título al trabajo, The Sound Of The Smiths y Johnny Marr ha supervisado la masterización del álbum.
