Este año será definitivo para la continuidad, o no, de la carrera de Lana del Rey. La joven artista se hizo famosa gracias a una excelentísima canción que lleva por nombre “Video Games”, la cual la ha lanzado al estrellato incluso antes de tener su disco publicado. Born To Die, que así se llama, se lanza hoy, aunque lleva unos días disponible en algunas tiendas, y por ello se filtró en Internet hace aproximadamente una semana.
Hablo de la continuidad de Lana porque parece que a la norteamericana le crecen los enanos. Primero, fueron muchos los que pusieron en entredicho su calidad como artista e incluso la tacharon de ser un producto diseñado para vender, después de una desastrosa actuación en Saturday Night Live. Lana estaba realmente nerviosa, y eso provocó que artistas como Juliette Lewis no pudieran contenerse y hablaran refiriéndose a ella como una niña de 12 años que pretendía cantar.
A falta de escuchar el disco, y tras leer la detallada reseña que publicamos ayer, quiero dar un voto de confianza a Del Rey y dar credibilidad a su supuesta historia, además de darle gracias por temas tan buenos como la citada “Video Games” o “Born To Die”. Hay otros sin embargo que ya han puesto todo en su contra, y ahora la acusan además de plagio.
Me entero de ella gracias a un foro en el que comparan Video Games con una canción griega de hace bastante (1991) que tiene una melodía muy, muy similar, y además un estilo completamente idéntico, incluyendo el tipo de voz. Sin saber si habrá demanda o no de por medio (los grandes medios están empezando a hacerse eco), os dejo con ambos temas.
