¿Es este 2012 el año de las colaboraciones en directo? Rotundamente, sí. No ha pasado ni un día desde que os he hablado de la actuación que harán en los Grammy The Beach Boys junto a Maroon 5 y Foster The People, y pocos días desde que habláramos de Florence & The Machine y The Horrors en los NME, o Foo Fighters y Deadmau5 también en los Grammy. Ahora toca hablar de Noel Gallagher y Chris Martin, ya que el hermano mayor de los Gallagher y Chris Martin actuarán juntos en los BRIT Awards 2012.
Será un dueto, y previsiblemente se tratará de uno de los ¿nuevos? temas de Noel Gallagher, y, como no, se rumorea que Chris Martin acompañaría el tema al piano.
Se trata de una buenísima ocasión para escuchar a ambos juntos, y es que de este tipo de amistadas siempre salen cosas buenas. Ambos han participado varias veces juntos, y se confiesan fans del otro respectivamente. ¿Pueden sorprender en los BRIT? A la espera, mejor recordar su actuación en la Make Trade Fair, hace ya bastantes años, por cierto.
Pues…. sinceramente, esa actuación da pena. Es el ejemplo perfecto de cómo cargarse una canción. Chris Martin no llega ni a las notas. ¿Sobre qué edad se golpeó la cabeza y creyó que podía cantar?

I used to love Oasis. This is a great song, but unfortunately it’s just stutas quo. I think Noel was Oasis. I don’t think he’s moving forward. Ever since Definitely Maybe he’s left his T-Rex influenced tunes in the past, and that’s a shame because I think they had more room to explore than the beatles-esque stutas quo. I like the guy a lot, I love his personality in interviews and how he shows up in the lowest-of-budget documentaries about whatever (maybe he just loves being on camera), but I think he’s got his comfortable niche and he’s afraid to come out of it. Take a chance Noel! Do something nuts! You’ve got the money and the attention. Challenge us. But ultimately, maybe we just like him because he truly is a working class regular joe with a if it ain’t broke, why fix it attitude. Who knows.
